Complimentary Webinar on Comparative Effectiveness Sponsored by Population Health Impact Institute (PHII)

The message is clear from Washington – “Comparative Effectiveness” has been proposed as the foundation for coverage decisions in Medicare.  As the feds lead – this will more than likely "trickle down" to the commercial sector.

The Population Health Impact Institute (PHII) has convened national experts to develop a practical, comparative-based system to help purchasers and payers evaluate the methods and results used in all kinds of population health management programs – including medical, case and disease management, benefit design, value-based purchasing and more.

Join us on Thursday, December 18 at 2:00 pm (EST) for a one-hour complimentary webinar to learn more about the PHII Methods Evaluation Process™ (MEP), including the:

·         MEP Certification Program, an educational program for individuals offering continuing education credits; and
·         MEP Accreditation Program, an accreditation program for population health management programs.

Join a distinguished panel of experts during this Webinar including:

Joel V. Brill, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Predictive Health; and Chair, PHII Steering Committee
Garry Carneal, JD, MA, CEO, Schooner Health Services; and Chair, PHII Standards Committee
Vicki Darlington, Wellness Director, Entergy Corporation
Richard Hodach, MD, PhD, Population Health Consultant
Jaan Sidorov, MD, Principal, Sidorov Health Solutions
Thomas Wilson, PhD, Epidemiologist, Trajectory Healthcare; and Chair, PHII Board of Directors

The MEP Programs are based on the same principles of evidence as comparative effectiveness research.  One has to compare a program to something equivalent.  And, the metrics and methods used in the comparison must be transparent.

Mark your calendar and register here at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/933241803 for this complimentary Web seminar. Also, please feel free to invite your colleagues to join us for what promises to be an insightful and invaluable session.

It would have been nice to get this notice before the webinaire so I could have listened rather than in an e mail dated 1-5-09

To all those who missed the Comparative Effectiveness Webinar last December.

I am pleased to report that the webinar — attended by over 120 people — is now available in two formats: 1) Streaming video of the actual webinar; and 2) Printed copy of slides in PDF.

Visit the non-profit (501c3) Population Health Impact Institute at http://www.PHIinstitute.org, log on and view the webinar at your leisure.

In addition to the streaming video of the entire seminar and a PDF copy of the slides; a document with speaker’s answers to questions asked after the seminar was over are also included.
