I, too, am now more &#039;doggedly optimistic&#039; about the future of HIT.
I think your point 2 about &#039;meaningful use&#039; can be the real incentive to be innovative (although the cats will try to subvert this to support &#039;pay for my EHR&#039;).
I also like &#039;data liquidity&#039;.  This should empower patients to share their information with their doctors even if the entrenched health care systems want to keep a closed shop.
