Whew! Revolution Health Has Figured Out That I’m Not Pregnant.

Last January I signed up at Revolution Health’s website to take a look at the types of personal health tools that the company was making available.  Revolution Health Group is Steve Case’s “consumer-centric health company founded to transform how people improve their health by putting consumers at the center of the health system, with better choices, more convenience and more control.”

“My revolution” is my personal home page on the site…it’s kind of like MySpace for health care.  “Postings from my circle” was their way of trying to connect me with like minded & like bodied other members of Revolution Health.  Despite my having provided no personal information other than my name and email, they must have thought I was pregnant. Here’s an actual screen shot of “postings from my circle” displayed in January.

Yeah, my wrist gets tired after 10 hours of crocheting, too.

Today I went back to “My revolution” page at Revolution Health.  Mercifully, the “postings from my circle” has disappeared.

Two take-away points:

  • Despite my snippy examples, Revolution Health truly is among the best collections of personal health tools available.  The site offers 135 different tools.
  • The state-of-the-art in personal health tools is still fairly primitive.  Steve Case has stated that he is taking a long-term view that it could “take years to bring about major changes”. That perspective sounds about right.

That’s great! I think the last time I heard of a pregnant male was an old Arnold Schwarzenegger / Danny DeVito movie (I forget the name of that movie). Never signed up for RevolutionHealth, but considering the comic relief it gives, I might have to give it a try. Who knows, maybe they’ll think I’M knocked-up too, and I could join the ranks of other pregnant mothers seeking advice on health care! :-)
